If you are a graduate student or post-doc in a Natural Science department and are interested in teaching and learning there are several ways you can get involved:
- Join the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) network and participate in their seminars, workshops, and online sessions.
- For example, you can join the CIRTL Reads Journal Club
- You can also join the Teaching as Research (TAR) Learning Community and work on a TAR project
- For participating in CIRTL teaching and learning events (workshops, seminars, working on a TAR project etc.), CIRTL offers Teaching Certificates which can look good on a C. V. for applying to academic positions. For more information, email Mary Besterfield-Sacre from Pitt's engineering department.
- Get involved with Pitt's University Center for Teaching and Learning and participate in the workshops they conduct.
